FAQs

Tele-therapy is equally as effective as in-person therapy, in most treatment cases; and can be done from the convenience of your home, car, or other private location. Please make sure you are in a private location that allows you to have the same level of concentration and openness you show in-person sessions.

Sessions are held online via the Zoom platform (using a professional account that is HIPAA compliant and secure). You can choose to have your camera on or off and if you would like to chat instead, that is also doable. You will receive a link prior to your scheduled appointment via email or text message.

If you plan to use a smartphone, you will be prompted to download the zoom app first. Alternatively, you can log in using a web browser.

Weekly, Biweekly, and Monthly maintenance sessions are available. The frequency of your sessions will be determined by your treatment plan.

Sessions are generally 30-45 minutes long. 45 minutes seems to be sufficient time to discuss and process events between sessions.

That is determined by your level of need. Often, with consistent weekly sessions, therapy lasts between 3-6 months. However, others may need longer to process.

At Essential Growth Therapy we strive to give you the best mental health treatment with proven modalities that work. For that reason, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is one of the main modalities used for treatment. CBT helps individuals dealing with anxiety and anger to change their thought patterns and introduce new ones in order to decrease their fears. Solution-focused Therapy is another type of therapy often employed in treatment. This therapy helps those individuals that are faced with immediate decision-making needs and that need quick solutions to problems. To improve skills and help manage painful emotions, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is often used by your therapist as well. DBT therapy works with client’s strengths and beliefs system by building on their positive attributes. Individuals undergoing grief and divorce often benefit from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. This type of therapy helps client examine their thoughts and feelings and make a commitment to creating change in their lives.

Currently services are only offered for the state of Florida. Services are strictly online, no in-person therapy.

If you need to contact your therapist between sessions, please text or leave a message on their voice mail at (682) 683-9751. Often, your therapist will not be immediately available; however, they will attempt to return your call within 24 hours. If a true emergency situation arises, please call 911 or any local emergency room. If you’re not in immediate danger, but would like someone to speak with, you can reach the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.
